A Few of My Favourite Things

Looking back is part of going forward right?
So I have put together a few of my favourite projects from this year.
Card making is my favourite crafting and being on the design teams at Colour INKspiration and CASEing the Catty means that I am constantly challenged to look at new ways of doing things, but also an incredible opportunity to learn from others. I also have to challenges myself to participate in challenges which are not my usual colour schemes/ style etc so it is a good opportunity to grow.

This one was a great way to Demonstrate the Stamparatus at the Rockhampton River Festival recently.  I just love the Bokeh Dots stampset. I may even modify this for my Christmas cards this year.

I have also had lots of fun playing with the Floral Frames Bundle- it's beautiful. But as well as the obvious images I was thrilled to find Gumleaves in the set. Here's how I made them and some of the tips with this set.

As well as cards I love to make other more permanent creations. I love the new colour revamp this year- everything is so bright and fresh. So I revamped my display board as well. You can see more of this here.

The other project I've been working on recently is a 3D frame.
I have used these Ikea 'Riva' frames a lot over the years as theAny sit flat on a shelf or table and there is a good depth for any 3D objects. This time I wanted to  update my frame with some of the gorgeous new papers and embellishments. You can find more about this project in this post.


And finally, what would a Stampin' Up! review be without looking at some Scrapbooking. There are lots of avid Stampin' Up! users who are keen scrapbookers and while this isn't my first option for craft time I do enjoy the challenge. And I try to diversify so I can be of help to my customers.

CTC#48 Who doesn't love new DSP

Welcome back to CASEing the Catty for this round. You may have come from Rachel's beautiful project  or you maybe starting here. There are lots of great posts to visit. This week we are using new Designer Series paper from the Holiday Catalogue - and who doesn't love a pack of new paper? The problem of course is which one to choose.... followed by the problem of actually having to CUT into a pristine pack. ....I know you all know what I mean. I have lots of photos for you today to try and show off some of the designs, but it's not easy to capture and they always look so much better in real life. I have purchased two packs - the Happy Haunting pack on page 47, which I was inspired to get purely from the background piece on the Lighthearted Leaves card on page 44. I don't celebrate Halloween, nor am I usually all that partial to Orange shades, but maybe that's changing! because I really like the designs. The pack has several papers that are specifically...

Envelope Dies perfect for an Acetate Tent card and some new DSP

After creating yesterday's cards I was on a roll and created this one using the beautiful Gilded Autumn DSP and the Fancy Phrases stamp set.  I really love the sentiments in this set.  It is such a simple design and easy to create. You can find all the directions on yesterday's post for Just Add Ink (JAI#518)  I watercoloured the white leaf after I had adhered the gold veins just to soften it, and I added a strip of mint DSP to the front of one of the tent stands as the white was a bit stark. That's the cool thing about this design, you can change it up plenty of ways. I'm sure we can all send these type of cards at the moment.
