Colour INKspiration #43 Beautiful Beehive Brightness

Hello again, it's Wednesday and that's Colour INKspiration day!
You may have joined me from the fabulous Rachel, or you may be starting here.  Be sure and hop all the way around as there are so many different ideas and techniques and styles in the group. You're sure to find some "INKspiration". Then we'd love you to create your own project and share it with us on our Facebook page.

This round we are focusing on the current In colours - choose 1,2,3,4 or all 5 colours for your projects. Metallics and black/white/vanilla are allowed too. This set of colours is just so bright and fun.
I used 3 - Lovely Lipstick (super colour), Pineapple Punch ( instant pick me up) and Grapefruit Grove (beautiful blender and background colour).

I ran the watercolour paper through the Dynamic honeycomb embossing folder and spritzed the paper. I applied the ink with an aquapainter hoping the colour would pool in the "wells" which it did a little. Then I just 'joined the dots' with more ink and water filling in any areas that were bare of colour.
The water did soften the effect of the embossing folder so that once the piece was dry it was quite easy to stamp the flowers from Wood Words in the corner.
When it was all finished I ran it back through the embossing folder again. I quite love the effect. The little bee is a copper sticker from the embellishment sheets Tea Room  Copper Vinyl Stickers. I've had quite a lot of uses from those cute little stickers.

Here's a different view of the profile which the folder gives. Everything looks better embossed! and since we humans are tactile creatures it just invites you to touch it!

Love those copper stickers

Next on the hop this week is one of our two fabulous Guest Designers - Anna Matasci You'e going to love her stylish card.

You could be a guest designer too if your card is chosen from the Facebook group. We'd love you to join in.

I hope you have a creative week and remember,
"don't just post online,
 post something pretty!"

cheers, Liz

  1. This is just so amazing and beautiful and a brilliant idea to watercolour and emboss for texture. I love the little bee too! What an amazing card. Wonderful way to show off these colours.

  2. I agree with Julia - I love the effect you've created by embossing the watercolour paper and adding puddles of colour with ink. It has a very dreamy effect that softens the colour and enhances your stamping. Great job and wonderful technique.

Envelope Dies perfect for an Acetate Tent card and some new DSP

After creating yesterday's cards I was on a roll and created this one using the beautiful Gilded Autumn DSP and the Fancy Phrases stamp set.  I really love the sentiments in this set.  It is such a simple design and easy to create. You can find all the directions on yesterday's post for Just Add Ink (JAI#518)  I watercoloured the white leaf after I had adhered the gold veins just to soften it, and I added a strip of mint DSP to the front of one of the tent stands as the white was a bit stark. That's the cool thing about this design, you can change it up plenty of ways. I'm sure we can all send these type of cards at the moment. I hope you are safe and well, and staying connected, wherever you are.
